The Dirty Girl Scout shot (also known as a naughty girl scout) has a mix of sweet and minty flavors that will leave you feeling like you just indulged in a guilty pleasure.
This little concoction is made with equal parts of Vodka, Bailey's Irish Cream, and crème de menthe, resulting in a rich and creamy texture with a refreshing hint of mint.
The combination of the liqueurs creates an irresistible taste that's reminiscent of your favorite childhood thin mint girl scout cookies, but with an adult twist.
Sip on this decadent shot after dinner or serve it up at your next party for a deliciously sinful treat that's sure to please any crowd. Just be warned, one sip and you'll be hooked on this seductive little shot!
Ingredients
This particular girl scout shot recipe is a little different from the ones you might typically see. We substituted the vodka in exchange for Kaulha. As we wanted a truly bright green shot. The Kaula tends to make the drink look a little muddy. Either way, the drink comes out fantastic, so it comes down to a matter of personal choice.
Creme de menthe: Plays a crucial role in the shot, providing it with its signature minty flavor and refreshing finish. This sweet and syrupy liqueur is made from peppermint leaves and provides a cool, crisp taste that perfectly balances out the richness of the vodka and Bailey's Irish Cream. I suggest going for a green one to make your shots really stand out.
Irish cream liqueur: Provide a rich and creamy texture that perfectly complements the minty flavor of the crème de menthe. I like Baileys.
Vodka: While vodka isn't typically found in a dirty girl scout, it adds an additional kick of alcohol or to balance out the sweetness of the other ingredients.
Garnish: Mint leaves or thin mint girl scout cookies
Instructions
Start by pouring your vodka and Irish creme into a shaker.
Add in your creme de menthe.
And give everything a good shake in the shaker.
This can be either a shot or a dirty girl scout cocktail drink. However, it's best to drink them right away as they start to settle pretty quickly.
Even when settled they're still really good!
How to Garnish
Mint: These shots naturally garnish well with a sprig of fresh mint leaves.
Thin mint cookies: Or you could garnish each shot with its own girl scout cookie.
You could also crush up a few cookies and use to dip the rim of your glass in for a minty, crumbly rim.
Variations & Substitutions
If you're looking for a truly classic version of the dirty girl scout, substitute the vodka for Kaluha. Which will give you a more cocoa flavor to your drink.
I used vodka to keep the truly green color of the shot. Substituting for the Kaluha will turn your shots more of a brownish color.
